About the blog and the blogger

My name is Arild and I'm a not-so-very-anonymous Saaboholic. In this blog I will share my thoughts and experiences with Saab and Saab cars.

If you want to share comments, questions, information, news or just want a chat, then you'll find a contact form at the top of the right column. In the contact form you will also find my email address.

This is a totally independent blog, run by one Saab enthusiast. This blog has no tie-ins with the Saab car company or any other commercial company. This blog has no incomes from ads or sponsorships. What you read on this blog is not affected by financial considerations.

And now some background info on my Saab interest.

My first encounter with a Saab car was on a drizzling afternoon in August 2002. I had decided to get a new car and my search had led me to test drive a 1999 Saab 9-3. I started the car and put in into first, second and third gear. Then I floored it. The car spun like crazy on the wet tarmac and accelerated like nothing I had experienced before. I was sold. Or rather, the car sold - to me! During the first year I got some new 17 inch Aero rims, Viggen front spoiler, side skirts and rear spoiler and an Aero rear wing.

My second Saab was a 2003 Saab 9-3 SportSedan bought in January 2004. It was very different from my first Saab. Where my first Saab felt raw and wild, this car was smooth and civilized. I loved it. This Saab got a full sports package with front lip spoiler, side skirts, rear lower spoiler and trunk spoiler. And some 17 inch Aero rims.

My third and current Saab is a new Saab 9-5 Sedan. I bought it in September 2010. I love it just as much as I've loved my previous Saabs.

My interest in the Saab Automobile car company has been there ever since I got my first Saab. This small company from Trollhättan intrigues me. Despite being little in size and sales, Saab has always been at the forefront of innovations and new technology, especially safety. The Saab design is distinct and unique, the mix of comfort and sportiness perfect and the turbo engines are a thrill. What's not to love? ;)

Have a great Saab day!

BTW, I also got a Porsche Boxster which I love, but my interest in Porsche and Porsche cars have never come close to my interest in Saab. There is something special with an underdog like Saab! :)
