As reported almost two weeks ago, Saab has currently at least 5,000 cars on order. In addition to these 5,000 cars, Pangda Automobile has agreed to buy 1,300 Saab cars. And in the deal with Pangda, it is possible that this number will increase the next 30 days depending on if certain circumstances is met. If so, the number of cars to ship to China will probably increase by 650 more cars.
This means that 7,000 cars are waiting to be built. Before the Trollhättan factory was temporary shut down six weeks ago, the production was 220 cars each day. In other words, the factory should at the moment have orders for more than one month of production. Add new orders from customers now that Saab has secured mid-term survival, and the factory should have more than enough work up to the summer holiday.
In addition to these cars, it has also been reported that this year's production capacity of the Saab 9-4X in Mexico will be fully utilized.
