IMPORTANT NEWS: National Electric Vehicle Sweden has agreed to buy the assets of Saab Automobile and the sale is expected to be finalized during the summer.

Saab awareness

As reported back in April, Saab is sponsoring the Wales Open golf tournament. This tournament started yesterday and will carry on until Sunday. The interesting thing is that this coincide with Saab USA COO Tim Colbeck last night on Autoline After Hours talked about brand awareness, focus on what makes a Saab a Saab and recognizing what fits the brand and what doesn't. Furthermore to built more confidence in the public, to show that Saab will be a successful car company by continuing to launch new models and market them to the costumers in a way that is very Saablike. So then I can only assume that Saab UK, and possibly Saab in Trollhättan, have identified the Wales Open as a prime opportunity to built Saab awareness by connecting to some of their prime costumers through this golf event.

I for one do not identify with those playing golf or those following golf. But that doesn't worry me as I'm probably very different from the people Saab is trying to reach out to in the UK and the USA.
