It seems that all labor unions at Saab are reluctant to file for bankruptcy. Most of their members want their employee to survive and ask their unions to give Saab more time.
Representatives of Sveriges Ingenjörer (the union of the engineers, approx. 500 Saab employees) and Ledarna (the union of the managers approx. 130 Saab employees) tells TTELA that they do not want to be the ones who put Saab into bankruptcy.
IF Metall (the blue-collar union with approx. 1,500 of Saab employees) and Unionen (white-collar union with approx. 950 Saab employees) are waiting out the other labor unions.
It is quite clear that noone wants the role of the executioner. But in the end they need to act in order to secure their members wages from the state guarantee. One possible scenario is that all the unions file for bankruptcy in Saab at the same time.
But at the moment it looks like Saab will live for at least a few more days, and hopefully long enough to appeal the District Courts decision from yesterday. The appeal is planned to be filed on Monday.
