Saab Automobile AB's subsidiary Saab Automobile Parts AB, which is responsible for sale of spare parts to Saabs all over the world, is also experiencing difficult times. And now the management has decided that 16 of the employees will have to go.
"This does not feel good at all. We hope to see an upturn in sales of Saab in the future but right now this is unfortunately the fact we have to live with," said Lennart Ståhl, CEO of Saab Parts, to Swedish Radio.
In addition to Saab spare parts, the company also distributes spare parts for other car brands and also does logistics services for other industries. And if the worst should happen, and Saab disappear, then the company might change its name.
"If Saab Automobile should fall, this company, Saab Parts, will remain for the foreseeable future. But I do not think it will be an advantage to be called Saab. It will require some explanation," said Lennart Ståhl.
