Saab sales in April 2011

Summary of the sales in April
In April Saab's biggest market was the USA with 696 cars, followed by Sweden with 560 cars and the UK with 489 cars. But the UK is still Saab's biggest market so far this year with 2,857 cars.

Sweden
Saab's sales for Sweden in April has just been released by Bil Sweden. In total there were 560 new Saabs registered in April, of which 432 were Saab 9-3s and 128 were Saab 9-5s.

There were registred 167 units of the new Saab 9-3 TTiD, 120 Saab 9-3 BioPower and 43 Saab 9-5 BioPower.

In total April saw an increase of 32 Saab cars or 6 per cent compared to April 2010.

So far this year 2,626 new Saab's have been registered in Sweden, which is an increase of 978 cars or 59 per cent.

I have no idea how the recent stop at the factory might have affected April's registration figures and I will therefore refrain from commenting on the sales.

USA
According to Motor Intelligence, Saab sold 696 new cars in the USA in April. This was 481 cars up compared to April 2010, which correspond to an increase of 224 per cent.

UK
According to SMMT there were 489 new Saabs registered in the UK in April. That was a 101 percent increase compared to the 243 Saabs registered in APril 2010.

Ireland
According to SIMI Motorstats, there were 107 Saabs sold in Ireland in April, which was 79 cars more than April 2010. 62 of the cars were Saab 9-3 and 45 were Saab 9-5. I wonder if this makes Ireland the country with the biggest Saab 9-5 share?

Another couple of interesting notes from the Irish sale; Only 5 of the cars were wagons and all except one of the cars were diesels. I guess Ireland is a diesel powered saloon country!

Norway
According to Opplysningsrådet for Veitrafikken AS, there were 54 new Saabs registered in Norway in April. 43 were Saab 9-3 and 11 Saab 9-5. Comparable figures for 2010 were 15 Saab 9-3 and 2 Saab 9-5. In other words, Saab saw an increase of 37 cars or 218 percent compared to April 2010.

Finland
Not realeased yet.

Greece
Numbers from AMVIR show that in April Saab sold 5 Saab 9-3 and 7 Saab 9-5 in Greece.
