This is something i did not want to see. Swedish TV4 reports that three different sources claim that the next generation Saab 9-3 is six months to one year delayed. One source said that several subcontractors have stopped deliveries to the prototype and that they are trying to work around the problem, but they are behind schedule. PrivataAffärer reports that another source claimed that many technology projects have been put on hold because of shortage of money. This source said that there was no chance that the new 9-3 would be completed on time.
Head of communication at Saab, Eric Geers, said that with the information Saab has at the moment, October 2012 is still the target. He continued by saying that at Saab they know what they are doing and that the next 9-3 is very important and will be launched October next year.
